Introduction In 1801, Thomas Young carried out an experiment and showed that light exhibited interference, which is a unique property of waves. This experiment is later known as the Young’s double slit experiment.

This simulation demonstrates how an interference pattern of light produced by a double-slit is affected by the wavelength of the light, the slit-to-screen distance and the slit separation of the double-slit used.
