Most plastics are made from crude oil . Crude oil is a black, viscous* liquid with a pungent* smell. It is found underground or under the seabed*. It is a very important natural resource. Let’s learn some properties of crude oil now. Metals and alloys are materials commonly used today. Apart from them, another type of commonly used materials is plastics . Many objects around us are made of plastics. Crude oil and plastics Suppose you are a product designer. You are going to design some utensils (bowls, plates, cups and spoons) for children’s use.
